Carb Cycling: The Turbo Cycle
Thanks for the reply, and explanation of my question. Zero problems, can cruise about 18 miles at 25 mph with very little effort. Obviously fruit is the key here but thats not easy to work with on the low carb days…any suggestions? Lemon Chicken drizzled with salad dressing. High carb day slingshot or slingshot with double the carb portions as in the latest book?

Specialized Turbo Ebike Review

I have not heard of any bioplanet bikes in the USA. On the other hand I remember the Busettii bike claims too, lol. Hey ElectricBike, which guy were you at the media event? Lets go riding sometime and I will show you how to crash.

So because this is a Pedelec, are there any problems riding this with the law? Has anyone ever had ANY problems with the law? Review says 48 pounds. Comments say 38 pounds. It is 48 pounds. You shouldnt have any problems with the law on this bike.

Thanks for the article. It comes out just as I am building my own Specialized Turbo. I am shocked to see this bikes specs are pretty close to mine: Specialized road frame, watt motor, watt hours. I ride in town on the same tires.

Look how light it is too…beautiful finish, super stealth. My commute is only 4 miles so it would be perfect. Though I think I like the Grace One better. Admittedly, this is one of the best looking ebikes on the market. Thank you for a terrific review of the Turbo bike. Very well thought out and written. I am pounds, and found myself going 25 mph up a steep hill. I was in better control than if I was pumping my road bike. This is a whole new mode of transportation, very exciting.

This is what you would expect from a company that specialises in diamond tube road racing and mountain bikes. It is nice, but completely obvious and boring with very little thoughtful engineering. I love the spec on the GoCycle, but Jeez, is it ugly. Looks like a granny bike. The Specialized on the other hand looks great, stealthy, light, a great crossover between a rideable ordinary bike and a high speed stealthy fun commute. Plus your top speed is 15 mph.

Unlike any other production pedelec this thing is actually fun to ride and good looking. If the range is sufficient for your needs then the small battery is a PLUS. I tried a Stromer once, it was hokey; bad brakes and a soft frame, whereas the Turbo is fun. Just rode the Stromer ST1 today. Crazy fast and easy to ride. Almost felt guilty rocketing by lycra clad guys pedaling hard on carbon road bikes. It will be interesting to see how the Turbo compares to a bike with the Copenhagen wheel when it is available.

I would have prefer a geared motor. Much better torque on start up. Much better at free wheeling. I do a lot of coasting on my Ebike to save battery charge so free wheeling is important. I would take a bike that free wheels over regen motor any day. Specialized is doing a helluva job for the entire e-bike industry. I ride the ST1 Platinum and a really short range of Turbo worries me. Test rode one today — super slick!

Power comes on great, very smooth, great handling, great finish. Genuinely feels like you are riding downhill the whole time. Bought a Turbo S three days ago. Beautiful finish, completely silent, great ride. I commute 3 miles to work each way on it. Free battery upgrade in March from the current ah battery to a ah one. Super rigid frame seems super strong but bumps sure get transmitted…this thing could use suspension.

Superb drive system…click it through the gears and run medium pedaling effort and you fly…completely transforms the bike riding experience. Not sure about the colour though…may go a custom paint job. Been running my Turbo for 3 weeks now. Got it for 6K. Zero problems, can cruise about 18 miles at 25 mph with very little effort. Can hit 28 with a bit of effort. Wonderful adjustable feature on the eco mode — you can set the boost to wherever you like.

Set it just right and you get a good high speed workout with loads of range. GREAT handling bike, very quick charge, fantastic lights. I agree the battery is too small. No rattles or shakes, no power glitches, just very smooth progressive power. I can go over the bridges in NYC at 21 mph uphill where everyone else is doing 8 Whats the specs for the battery? In the review Wh are claimed but on they webbsite Wh is stated.

I guess they updated the model for or?? I think they did improve the battery for , but I am not sure about the details either, would like to find out too!

It had a watt motor, 21 speeds, turbo,. They are still available used and you can add a pin to the control unit to run with a lithium battery. Remove the old front hut mounted battery, add the lithium and you are going to better any of the new bikes costing at least twice as much. Top speed while pedaling the X is well over 33 mpg on level ground and it is completely silent. Just rode one in California. Amazing intuitive ability to make riding so much fun!! As the tire spins it generates centripetal force that holds the beads along the inside of the tire or tube.

Ultimately the beads gather at the point opposite the imbalance until they amass enough weight to offset it. At that point the wheel rolls true and the spare beads just distribute themselves equally along the inside of the tire.

When the vehicle comes to a stop they all come crashing back down to the bottom. Imbalance that can be cured by static balancing. Vibration of the wheel while driving is shown at the right. At low speeds a wheel rotates around its principle axis of inertia, its axle blue line. But at speed a static imbalance can force the suspension to deflect so the wheel can follow another axis called the axis of rotation red line.

Swing a bucket to experience the force a static imbalance can generate. Imbalance that can be cured only by dynamic balancing. Vibration of the spinning wheel shown at the right. Imbalances away from the wheel centerline can generate an axis of rotation red irrespective to the axle itself blue. But moving the imbalances apart right moves the axis of rotation further away from the centerline and a wobble is likely to follow. A narrow wheel balanced statically can have all of the counterweights on one side usually backside.

But a wide wheel balanced dynamically requires weights on each plane with an imbalance, the face if one exists there. No amount of balancing will matter if a wheel rolls like an egg.

Chris Sage at The Wheelsmith noted a few things that prevent a wheel from rolling true. Because most wheels center on the lug nuts on older cars he recommends seating nuts by hand before tightening them.

And some of us are responsible for a potentially ill fit. However, early Ford disc wheels with the 5. Because most of the Buick-style drum covers maintain the same external dimensions they too suffer the same problem as I discovered on my own car.

Sometimes an elusive shimmy or vibration stems from an improper wheel alignment. The two main culprits are toe and caster. Toe describes the longitudinal relationship between two wheels on an axle. The front wheels on most rear-drive road cars benefit from a touch of toe-in. It compensates for the road force that can induce a toe-out condition.

Toe-in also eliminates lash in the various components, which enhances straight-line stability. Excessive toe-in can induce a bear of a shake. It also wears tires unevenly, which causes its own problems. Toe settings vary by suspension design so start with the specs that the original manufacturer determined for the suspension under your car.

Remember that bias-ply tires neither need nor tolerate as much toe as radial tires do. Caster in a roundabout way generates tracking stability. It refers to the Steering Axis Inclination SAI —the line plotted through the kingpin or through both ball-joint centerlines—as viewed from the wheel face. Most vehicles feature negative caster, meaning the tire follows the point where the SAI intersects the ground. Increasing this distance increases the force by which the front wheels center themselves.

While specific drugs for the short term solve the situation, the unpleasant side effects are certainly not worth it, plus they never present more than a short-term solution. Many thanks sharing your thinking on this weblog. Thanks for the input Saul. Have you ever considered creating an ebook or guest authoring about Nutrisystem on other sites? I know my readers would appreciate your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free to send me an email.

Hi Lance — I actually do have an eBook in the works, so stay tuned for that! I just wanted to say that this post is awesome, well written and lots of useful Nutrisystem info.

Looking forward to my first shipment. Hi Corburt — Thanks for the kind words, and best of luck with your first month — hope it goes well! I just wanted to offer you a huge thumbs up for the great information you have right here on this post. I will be returning to your site for more soon! This blog looks exactly like my old one! Great choice of colors! Really inspired by your story — thanks for sharing!

I am planning to start Nutrisystem after the New Year. Hi Erin — Thanks so much for the positive feedback. The first time I ever used Nutrisytem, which was many years ago at this point, I think I was one it for 4 months. I had a lot more weight to lose then; now when I sign up, I usually use it for a month, maybe two at the most. To lock in the auto delivery deal, you have to commit to two months, so if you hit your weight loss goals after month 1, I recommend switching your order to just the Turbo Shakes — that will ensure you lock in the most savings, and also helps to keep you on track once you start transitioning off the program.

As I have said before, you have to be committed to the program to get results, but as long as you follow their plan you will lose weight! Anyways, best of luck and please let us know how it goes: Thanks for sharing your story. Drinking over ounces and eating tons of leafy greens. I did NS about 4 years ago lost almost This past July was told my chloerstral and blood pressure was too high for 28 year old.

So black Friday I ordered when prices decreased. Hi Amanda — Thanks for visiting and reading my story. Hope it goes as well this time around. Thanks for sharing your superb review. You have a lot of good info here.

I am looking for a diet to try just after the new year, and this might be the one. Either way, appreciate all of the details you shared.

Thanks, just what I was looking for. I have about 20 pounds to lose — is this doable in a month or two? Hi Sam — Thanks for the positive feedback. Losing 20 pounds is definitely doable with Nutrisystem, but I would budget at least two months. I signed up for Nutrisystem this week, and I am really hoping that I have the same results. I think my first shipment should arrive just before Christmas, so think I will get started right after the holiday. Thanks so much for the review — definitely gives me hope!

Hi Kris — congrats on signing up — while results will vary for everyone, I truly believe that you will lose a lot of weight if you follow the program — so stick with it, and let us know how it goes. They try to rip you off when quit their auto delivery program. Very very unpleasant people to deal with. They shipped me stuff 3 days after I had already cancelled and had a confirmation number stating I cancelled.

They refused to turn the shipment around or to take it back and are trying to create some kind of lie that I created a 2nd account in November and they only cancelled one account. The only thing I did in November was update my credit card expiration date which I regret. If I guaranteed no more shipments are coming to my name or my address that should be the end of the story, not with them!

I am fighting them through my credit card company but please be aware of whatever traps they have in store for any of you. Hi Troy — Sorry to hear that that was your experience. It was actually a customer service rep who told me I could switch from the meal delivery to just the Turbo Shakes after my first month on the program to lock in the auto-delivery savings without having to commit to another month of food.

In any case, I hope you are able to get things resolved! I started the program today, January 1st. My resolution is to feel better about myself, but do it in a healthy way that had structure. How much and when I should be eating vegetables, and ideas on what to eat if you have to attend a social function or business based meeting that involves food. Thanks for posting a well written, and information overview of this program.

I have three questions and maybe one is a question for a NS counselor… 1. Or can tomatoes, cukes, etc. Also, plain or with some sort of dressing? How many turbo shakes can you have per week… and when can they be consumed? Thanks in advance …. Hi Tami — Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!

I always add extra veggies to my greens and have found the only thing you really need to watch out for is the salad dressing. But for me, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.

I usually have my TurboShake midday — around 2: That said, I would definitely suggest using the Nutrisystem counseling service for full clarification, though — especially for questions 2 and 3.

Best of luck if you decide to try the full program! I wanted to say that this article is nicely written and included almost all the vital info I needed. Thanks for the review. I second your recommendation for Nutrisystem. Their service helped me significantly a few years ago. Hoping for the same results!

Hi Maria — thanks for commenting! Hope it goes well again if you decide to give it another try. Have you found that Nutrisystem is a good way for keeping the weight off over the long term? How long do you really have to be on Nutrisystem before you starting seeing results? Just finished month 1 and lost about 9 pounds! This post could not be written any better! Reading this post reminds me of my good old room mate! He was always trying new weight loss products.

I will forward this page to him. Fairly certain he will have a good read. Thank you for sharing! I just read this well written post. I have a handicapped daughter who has gained so much weight. We have tried everything with very little success. After taking to her doctors we decided to give NS a try. She started the program on February 16, She is loving the food and the program. She has already dropped three pounds. Her beginning weight was So she has a long way to go.

But the support and your post will definitely help her obtain her goals for healthier lifestyle. We will keep you informed on her progress. Thank you so much. Hi Shirley — What an inspirational story — really hoping she has success! Thanks for keeping us posted, and wishing your daughter all the best.

I suppose its ok to use some of your ideas!! I have been on Nutrisystem for about 5 weeks now. I lost 15 pounds the first month and have been following it to a T.

The food tastes fine and it is very easy to just grab something pop it in the microwave if necessary and go. I have been using My Fitness Pal to track my food and am eating about calories a day. The first week was really tough and I had a hard time, but I stuck to it. Now I m satisfied and use to it. Planning on finishing up the second month and then on the 3rd month working in more home cooked meals and tracking to stay at the same calorie level.

Then will switch over to the auto ship of Turbo shakes for my 4th month. I have about 40 pounds to lose and feel like I am making some good headway with the Nutrisystem plan.

Good job on the review, very well written. Wow, nice job Carolyn! Thanks for sharing your story, and best of luck with the rest of your diet. I was very happy to find this website. Just wanted to thank for your time for this wonderful read, and inspirational review!! Hi Kelly — sorry to hear that!

Have you tried connecting with the Nutrisystem counseling service? We had to take Nutrisystem program for 8 weeks because we got it at a discount thru our insurance company. My goal was to loose 30 lbs.
