It is now 8 months since this started and I am up 90 lbs. Just before she was discharged they doubled her Desmopressin to the max dosage — I guess as a sledgehammer bid to improve her wetting. I am not hungry between meals and it takes less food to make me full. Water weight does not respond to a normal low-calorie diet, but neither does weight gain caused by hormonal conditions like an underactive thyroid, so you should get this checked. I am wondering what are the odds that kidneys are the cause of the water retention? This was tested by traditional western medicine research, which found increased levels of a compound known as cyclic AMP.

And that is one of the major reasons I am still able to keep my weight off! Just think how much the company will earn from people like you who are completely dependent on it.
Nope… more like billions! And like most of us here, I took the route all of us take with diet programs, spine breaking workouts, fat burner pills, and even tried one of those "ab gadgets". Instead, in these 3 years, I learned through a lot of failures some of the MOST important behavior factors responsible for not only weight loss, but better health, a better mindset, more energy, and well, a better life.
Yep it sounds totally clichéd, but it is what it is. Discovering these simple and free things almost turned my entire life around. It led me to Precision Nutrition where I completed their intensive Level 1 course, it led me to become a health coach, and it led me to become a mentor for so many women seeking to lose weight but having no idea or confused with MANY ideas!
So my suggestion to you is …. Or click here to see and copy my exact 7 steps. Hello, my sister is an ambassador of this stuff and is truly addicted herself. In my own opinion I think it has severely impacted her personality. She gets angry and upset with my wife and I with things she has conjured up in her head.
Things that have never taken place. I love her and want my sister back. I have to say I found your blog good to give me things to think about however, I lived with chronic fatigue for 10 years due to colitis.
I had to take a small stimulant from my physician to even get by. The pink drink saved me. If it worked for you Amanda, great, no one is stopping you. To each his own.
I gradually stopped taking it and was fine for about 6 months. Further more I am now border line type II diabetic and diagnosed with beginning stages of non alcoholic fatty liver disease. I think because the weight came back so fast? I was trying to research to see if it might be the plexus or just a coincidence. Funny thing I had a negative reaction to the newer safer version so I just stopped taking the accelerator and just stuck with the pink drink which is all I reintroduced now.
THIS is what happens people! I cannot help much over here in the comments, but what you can do is what I did! Follow my steps see at the end of the post , yes it WILL take time it has to!
Sounds like you may have gone back to old eating habits especially with the fatty liver. Yes I agree everyone has their own story to share. Feeling very tired, huge headaches by the end of the day, dehydrated, and overall not well at all. I had my thyroid removed in and rely on Synthroid to keep me alive.
Turns out there are two main ingredients in Slim— a massive amount of Chromium, and Alpha Lipoic Acid. Chromium is clinically proven to hinder the absorption of Synthroid and Alpha Lipoic Acid is clinically proven to disrupt the conversion of T4 into T3. Also check out the main review page for some really nasty experiences people have had….
Sadly, I fell for the hype and took Plexus for just over a month. I was a borderline T2 Diebetic with a A1c of 6. I was hoping to decrease that with a healthy lifestyle and Plexus. Almost immediately my blood sugar went up but I hoped that it was just part of the detox and kept on it for a month. My A1c was then at 8. I am now a drug dependant Diebetic. Be very cautious of this stuff! She brags how plexus helped her oldest son with his ACT scores. Is this recommended for children? I have been researching these products for over a year now through doctors and hospitals and all that….
However, I do not seem to have the regular bowel movements I was accustomed to. Maybe using Plexus for 3 years has changed my digestive system that much. I tried plexus one time and ended up in the hospital with extreme dehydration— the medical professions called poison control and said that plexus is not regulated and not recommended to take. Sad that you can sell a non regulated product for people to consume and become a health risk. Not one life should be in a risk. Thank you for creating this website for honest reviews to be written.
I tried to leave a review on plexus site and they have very few positive reviews with no negative reviews. You know, what happened when they were sent home, and kind of had to go back to the real world? Well, the 17 folks were followed for years, and in all except one, the relief of painful neuropathy continued, or improved even further.
One of the most painful and frustrating conditions to treat in all of medicine, and three-quarters cured in a couple days with a natural, nontoxic — in fact, beneficial — treatment, a diet composed of whole plant foods. Should have been front page headline news. So, how could nerve damage be reversed so suddenly? Now, their most interesting speculation was that they thought it could be the trans fats naturally found in meat and dairy that could be causing an inflammatory response.
They found a significant percentage of the fat under the skin of those who eat meat, or even just dairy and eggs, was trans fats. The researchers stuck needles in the buttocks of people eating different diets, and nine months or more on a strict plant-based diet appeared to remove all trans fat from their bodies, or at least their butts.
So, more likely, the amazing reversal was due to an improvement in blood flow. Plant-based diets may also lower the level of IGF-1 within the eyeballs of diabetics, and decrease the risk of retinopathy—diabetic vision loss—as well.
But, what about treating retinopathy? Kempner at Duke used a plant-based diet composed mostly of rice and fruit, to document, for the first time, the reversal of diabetic retinopathy in a quarter of his patients—something never even thought possible.
Five years later, on the diet, instead of it getting worse, it got better. In , Auguste was taken to an insane asylum by her husband. She was seen by a Dr. Alzheimer, and was to become the case that made his a household name. On autopsy, he described the plaques and tangles that would go on to characterize the disease. But, lost in the excitement of discovering a new condition, a clue may have been overlooked.
This is what cerebral arteries should look like: This is what atherosclerosis in our brain arteries looks like: What kind of arteries do you want in your brain? This reduction in blood flow can starve the brain of oxygen, causing silent little mini-strokes, brain atrophy, shrinkage. To understand why, one has to understand the role of ApoE. What does the gene do?
Perlmutter, who sold lots of books claiming carbs are destroying our brain. But what does the science show? Take Japan, for example, where the prevalence of dementia has shot up over the last few decades. So, the link between diet and dementia can be characterized less as grain brain, and more as meathead. A similar analysis in China arrived at the same conclusion. The science shows the exact opposite of what one might read in the popular press.
If you follow people who are just starting to lose their mental faculties, the cognition of those with the least artery clogging in their brain remains pretty stable over the years. But, those with more cholesterol buildup got worse, and those with the most blockage rapidly declined. And, the same with the ability to carry out activities of daily living, like dressing oneself. But, does treatment of vascular risk factors, like high blood pressure and high cholesterol, make a difference?
Let me close with cancer, a leading cause of death and disability. How many years of life are lost to potentially preventable cancers? You know, our skin is about 20 square feet. Our lungs, if you actually flatten them out, are like a thousand square feet of surface area. Three thousand feet if you include all the little folds; three thousand square feet.
So, what we eat is our primary interface with the outside world, with our external environment. This means centering our diet around whole plant foods. And, when it came to foods that increase cancer risk, they were similarly straightforward.
Red meat was bad, but processed meat was worse, and that included white meat, like chicken, and turkey slices. This was the second largest prospective study on diet and cancer ever, a study of , people. Well, the largest ever—,—was done right here in the U. So, what does the industry think about all this? There are, evidently, other coloring additives available. Now, there a number of taste enhancers you can inject into the meat to help compensate for the salt reduction, but some of the compounds leave a bitter aftertaste.
So, they can also inject a patented bitter-blocking chemical that can prevent taste nerve stimulation at the same time—the first of what may become a stream of products that are produced due to the convergence of food technology and biotech. Or, they can always start adding non-meat materials to the meat. You could add fiber, or resistant starch from beans, that have protective effects against cancer.
After all, in the United States, dietary fiber is under-consumed. The industry is all in favor of causing less cancer, but obviously, such optimization has to achieve a healthier product without affecting the hedonic aspects. An improvement in one leads to a deterioration of the other.
So, you got to balance it out, right? They know that consumption of lard is not the best thing in the world, heart disease being our 1 killer. So, look, you got to get your priorities straight, right? Although the evidence for the relationship between colorectal cancer at least!
For example, compare the risk of eating meat to other risky practices—alcohol, inactivity, obesity, smoking. Consumers today are overloaded with information. Thus, the industry can hope that the dissemination of the update on meat and cancer drowns out in this information cloud.
For many consumers in the Western world, the role of healthfulness, although important, is not close to taste satisfaction in shaping their final choice of meat products. It is hence questionable whether the revised recommendations, based on the carcinogenic effects of meat consumption, will yield substantial changes in consumer behavior. The chances of reducing consumption to avoid colon cancer? In other words, the great palatability of ham largely outweighs other considerations, although health and wellbeing are increasingly important factors in consumer decisions.
This industry article feared that unless meat eating becomes compatible with eating that is healthy and wholesome, it could be consigned to a minor role in the diet in the coming decade. Millions of Americans are reducing their consumption of meat.
Yet, we continue to get diluted dietary guidelines, because authorities are asking themselves: This could be because constipation means a greater contact time between your waste and the intestinal wall, which can increase the formation and absorption of fecal mutagens, these compounds that can cause DNA mutations and cancer, into the circulation, and then into the breast. We know that breasts actively take up chemicals from the bloodstream, so researchers are concerned that substances originating in the colon might enter the bloodstream and reach the breast.
Specifically bile acids, which are formed as a way of getting rid of excess cholesterol. Our liver dumps bile acids into the intestines for disposal, assuming our intestines will be packed with fiber to trap it and flush it out of the body. Carcinogenic bile acids are found concentrated in the breast at up to a hundred times the level found in the bloodstream; they just concentrate it, pull it out of the system.
